Vois started as an internal toolkit for a team building AI-first products. The brief was simple: give designers and engineers a shared language without locking them into a specific UI style.
Most design systems ship with opinions — a card looks like this, a modal behaves like that. Vois doesn't. It provides the primitives: spacing, color, typography, motion tokens, and accessibility patterns. Teams compose their own UI on top.
The system uses semantic tokens that map to multiple themes. A single source of truth feeds Figma, code, and documentation. When a token changes, everything updates. No drift.
What made it work was restraint. Every component earned its place by appearing in at least three products. If it only showed up once, it stayed in the product. The system stayed lean.
